Time for Goodbyes ... again

Well today is my last day here in Stoke, and it is my sisters birthday! So today I am going out with my Mum and Sister to the cinema to see the Kings speech. Last night I had a wonderful evening with some of my best friends and supporters here in stoke, the Hearson family. They have stood beside me for the whole decade I have been planning and preparing to return to Colombia, praying for me, keeping in touch and encouraging me, but also keeping me accountable. Therefore, it was great to spend some quality time with them before I leave, and also have my last curry for a while!

At the end of last week I went to visit my friend Sue, who is a methodist minister, at her new post in Preston. Her new church is an inner city church with lots of outreach to the lost and lonely which seems to be suiting her much more than the previous middle-class suburb of Sheffield. It was great to share quality time with her too encouraging each other and sharing our stories.

Sunday was spent with the family, Sunday lunch with my mum, siblings and nana, it was great to reminisce over old times and generally have a good laugh together. Before heading off to church for the last time. It has been great to hang out with the young people at church and to share with them and encourage them again to have a go at the missions thing themselves.

So for now it is finishing off all the last bits and bobs and then tomorrow morning I leave for the YWAM base in Harpenden for a night to catch up with some people there and then Friday I fly out to Colombia.
