Hi All
So here we are at the start of a new year and a new page in this adventure we call life. I have now been in the UK for a month and, despite the cold, it has been a great time of hanging out and spending time with friends and family. Christmas was great, being able to have a "normal" Christmas period with my close family was a real blessing, and as I have made the decision not to come home for Christmas this year I made the most of every moment. Then I was able to keep my promise to my young friend Jess who has been really good at keeping in touch with me over the last year by accompanying her to London to see Legally Blonde. This trip was delayed by a week due to my delayed return to the UK because of snow at Heathrow, but everyone involved, the train company, theatre, hotel, were all very understanding and enabled us to change our plans without cost.

During this time I have also had the pleasure of sharing about my work in several local churches, speaking at both morning and evening services at Swan Bank, and also leading a night at The Group - Swan Banks Sunday night youth group. The following Monday I was able to do a presentation at St Andrews church in Sneyd Green, where my mum worships and then this Sunday I have been able to share at Wesely Hall Methodist Church also in Sneyd Green.

After a chance meeting with a local freelance journalist I have also been approached to do an article for the women's supplement of the local paper, which will be out either this week or next week. So all in all there have been lots of opportunities to tell people about the work that I am doing with El Refugio.

The remainder of my time in the UK will be spent visiting my friend Sue in Preston and the YWAM base in Harpenden before heading back to Colombia on the 28th Jan.

God Bless Petra
