PLEASE PRAY FOR THIS BOY
Harol at small group last year
Some of you will remember me blogging last year about 2 boys who stopped coming to the youth after my laptop was stolen in front of them. We have not seen either of these boys here apart from a handful of occasions since then. Until tonight, one of the boys Harol (without a d) decided to go for a walk tonight, he was feeling lost and alone and he found himself passing our front door just as I was closing it after coming home from the Gym. He called to me and I invited him in to chat, I could see he looked sad, which he denied at first but after some small talk he started to cry and he said "Tia, I don't know what is going on with my life" We have heard that he has been getting into drugs etc, I told him that no matter what he told me, what he had done, I wouldn't love him any less, neither would any of us, and the door would not be closed to him, he admitted to having tried marijuana but only 2-3 times and not for about a month, when he turned his back on that and the friends who had got him into it. Now he was alone, lost, he didn't know what he was doing with his life. He told me he had felt something pulling him away from this place and us. I shared with him the story of the prodigal son and asked him if he wanted to return to his Fathers house, he said he did, we prayed together, as we sat opposite each other he put his head on my knees crying, he asked God's forgiveness and I asked that he would be able to feel it and God's love for him.
However, this is just the start, I dont know if you have seen the Everything sketch - this one above, he is at the stage of making that decision to turn back to Jesus, but in doing so he is entering a battle, a spiritual battle with Satan and his forces on one side and him on the other, we know Jesus is with him fighting for him, but he doesn't at this point, please pray for him, cover him with prayer, go into battle for him, with him, even though you have never met him. He turns 18 this year and is at a crucial turning point in his life. Where he lives there are 100s of forces against him, influences, culture, family, everything to pull him away and nothing to pull him towards God, just us! Please keep him in your prayers, especially between now and youth on Saturday afternoon.
Thank you
Petra
